Welcome to the City of Pittsburgh's Online Reservation System

We are happy to introduce the Pittsburgh Community to RecDesk our new online permitting system.  Don't forget, you must create an account before you log into the system.  Use the Login Prompt in the upper right hand corner of the screen to create your account.  If you need help, please visit the HELP PAGE HERE!       

Customer Account Creation

Complete Forms Prior to Payment

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER:  Prior to making payment for your reservation(s) you will be required to complete and sign Flex Forms that correspond to your reservation.  Please follow the RecDesk Online Payment Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Facilities Listing Permitting Info

The City of Pittsburgh has a wide variety of facilities you can reserve/permit.  Please use this list to learn more about reserving specific facility types.
 

For PARK SHELTERS 

The City of Pittsburgh Offers 35 Parks Shelters/Pavilions for your next outing!  Reservations can be made here, online.  Select the RESERVE button by the Shelter/Pavilion you are interested in reserving and search for an available date.  Be sure to create your login for the permitting system in order to complete your reservation.  Prior to making payment for your reservation(s) you will be required to complete and sign Flex Forms that correspond to your reservation.  Please follow the RecDesk Online Payment Guide for step-by-step instructions.

 If you are unable to reserve a shelter online, phone or in-person reservations will be done by appointment only.  Please email dpwfields&parkshelters@pittsburghpa.gov to schedule if you are unable to use our online service. 

 

For ATHLETIC FIELD, BASKETBALL COURTS, CYCLE/BIKE TRACK, DEK HOCKEY COURT, TRACK, & VOLLEYBALL COURTS 

To request a court or field, the DPW Permits Office requires that all applicants submit a certificate of insurance, game and practice schedule, and roster, in addition to submitting the online application that can be accessed at https://forms.office.com/g/csZYuf2iGW .  All adult court and field permits are $23/hour.  To access additional information, please visit:  https://www.pittsburghpa.gov/Recreation-Events/Park-Permits/Sports-Field-Permit .

 If you are unable to submit a request via the form, phone or in-person reservations will be done by appointment only. Please email dpwfields&parkshelters@pittsburghpa.gov to schedule if you are unable to use the DPW Permits Office’s online service. 

 

For PICKLEBALL COURTS 

Pickleball Court Reservations are available online.  Click the RESERVE button next to the court you are interested in reserving; then select the time slot you want to play.  Be sure to create your login for our new permitting system in order to complete your reservation. 

 

For TENNIS COURTS 

Outdoor Tennis Court Reservations are available online.  Click the RESERVE button next to the court you are interested in reserving; then select the time slot you want to play.  Be sure to create your login for our new permitting system in order to complete your reservation. 

 

For WALLED GARDEN 

The Walled Garden is available to reserve in 2-hour increments.  Reservations for the Walled Garden must be done through the DPW Permits Office.   To reserve, please email dpwfields&parkshelters@pittsburghpa.gov (preferred) or call 412-742-3413. 

 

For OVERLOOKS 

The Overlooks in Mt. Washington are available to reserve in 2-hour increments.  Reservations for the Overlooks must be done through the DPW Permits Office.   To reserve, please email dpwfields&parkshelters@pittsburghpa.gov (preferred) or call 412-742-3413. 

 

For RECREATION CENTERS 

Permits for meeting rooms or gymnasiums at CitiParks Recreation Centers can be requested through the Center Director of the facility you are looking to permit. For HAL SENIOR CENTERS 

Permits for meeting rooms at CitiParks HAL Senior Centers can be requested through the Center Director of the facility you are looking to permit. For SCHENLEY SKATING RINK 

Private Ice Time and Banquet Room Rentals are available by contacting the Schenley Rink at (412) 422-6523.  Please note Private Ice Time Rentals for the 2025-26 Season are SOLD OUT.

Office of Film and Event Management Permits

If you are looking to permit park space(s) for your next event, you will also need a permit from the Office of Film and Event Management.  You can connect to the OFEM permit application HERE.  Anything that would extend beyond the birds-eye view of a shelter permit or require any additional City services will require a permit from the Office of Film and Event Management.
